For the lawyer

Draft written 2026-10-24 by Claude (an AI assistant, not a lawyer), for a lawyer to check before it is published. It follows a notice and counter-notice model similar to common international practice; it does not claim the protection of any particular country's safe-harbor law. Open points are listed at the end.

This page is for rights holders who believe something in the Likhon library or forum uses their work without permission, for uploaders who receive a notice, and for anyone who wants to report a problem with an item or a post.

1. Reporting a problem

Use Report on the item's library page, or on the forum post. You do not need an account. Choose the reason that fits best (for example: broken, harmful, offensive, or copyright). You can add an email address if you want a reply; it is used only for your report.

2. Sending a copyright notice

If you own the rights in a work, or are authorized to act for the owner, and believe an item or post infringes them, send a notice that includes:

  1. your name, and if you act for someone else, whom you represent;
  2. a description of your work (for example the font, layout, word list or image), and where it can be seen;
  3. the link to each item or post you are complaining about, and what in it you believe is copied;
  4. how we can contact you (email address, and a postal address or phone number);
  5. a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized by the rights holder, their agent or the law;
  6. a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorized to act for them; and
  7. your physical or electronic signature (typing your full name is enough).

3. Where to send it

Use Report on the item's page and choose Copyright, or email [copyright@likhon.agniflux.com — address to be created]. Notices about something other than copyright (for example a trademark or personal information) are welcome at the same places; tell us which right is involved.

4. What happens next

  1. We confirm we received your notice, usually within [3 working days].
  2. We review it. If it is incomplete, we ask for what is missing.
  3. If the notice is valid, we take the item or post down, or limit access to it, and tell the uploader, sending them a copy of the notice. We remove your contact details from that copy unless you agree otherwise, but we may share your name.
  4. A library item that is taken down is added to our signed list of withdrawn items, so the app stops offering it the next time it checks for updates. We cannot reach into copies people already downloaded, which stay under the item's open-source license.
  5. We tell you the outcome.

5. If your item was taken down (counter-notice)

If you uploaded an item that was taken down and believe this was a mistake, or that you had the right to publish it, you can send a counter-notice by email to [copyright@likhon.agniflux.com]. Include:

  1. your name, and the account email you use on Likhon;
  2. the item that was taken down;
  3. a statement, in good faith, that you believe it was removed by mistake or that you have the right to publish it, with your reasons (for example the license under which its author released it);
  4. how we can contact you; and
  5. your signature (typing your full name is enough).

We send the counter-notice to the person who sent the original notice. If they do not tell us within [14 days] that they have started legal action, we may restore the item, after review. We may also keep it down if we believe publishing it would still be unlawful.

6. Reviewing a decision (appeals)

If you disagree with any decision about a report, an item or a forum post, reply to the email that told you of the decision, or write to [copyright@likhon.agniflux.com], within [30 days]. Someone who was not involved in the first decision will look at it again, and tell you the result. [Appeals process pending the owner's decision.]

7. Repeat infringement and misuse

We close the accounts of people who repeatedly publish material that infringes others' rights. Sending a notice or counter-notice you know to be false can make you liable to the other person; please only send one if you are sure.

8. Other remedies

This process does not stop anyone from going to court or using any other remedy the law gives them.

For the lawyer

Open points for the owner and lawyer:

  1. The contact addresses and response times in brackets.
  2. Whether Bangladesh's Copyright Act 2023 or other laws require particular notice contents, deadlines or a designated contact, and whether a US DMCA agent registration is wanted if the site serves many US users.
  3. The appeals process (still open), and who handles appeals.
  4. How long notices and case files are kept (see Privacy).
