What Likhon can do today

Likhon is not released yet. This note says what already works in the test builds, so people helping us know what to try.

Typing. Phonetic typing turns English letters into Bangla as you type, in any Windows app. Fixed layouts work too: Probhat, Jatiya, Munir Optima and Avro Easy. F12 switches between Bangla and English.

Suggestions. A small window near the cursor offers words from a dictionary of about 159,000 Bangla words, your own words first. Your own autocorrect entries and shortcuts (for example ;ty for ধন্যবাদ) work as you type.

Themes. Fifteen themes, each with a light and a dark version that follow Windows.

Tools. Taka in words, Bangla numbers and dates with বঙ্গাব্দ, a cleaner for pasted text, "how do I type this word", a symbol palette, an on-screen keyboard and a printable layout chart.

Privacy. Nothing you type leaves your computer. Likhon only goes online when you ask it to.

Still to come: the community library inside the app, update checks, legacy-font output and the native add-on that puts Likhon in the Windows keyboard list.
